Exciting Opportunity: Student Assistant for EU Research Project

We are looking for a skilled and motivated student assistant with strong academic and administrative abilities to join a EU COST Action project at the Department of Education Studies, starting October 1, 2025.

Application deadline: Friday, August 22, 2025.

The position offers a challenging and stable student job opportunity, as the project runs until October 2027.

Your tasks will be both administrative and academic. They include taking meeting minutes, sorting and responding to inquiries and emails, working on the project website, assisting with the organization of conferences and events, sending meeting invitations, and supporting research-related tasks such as literature searches, reviews, and assistance with data collection.

The work will be a mix of on-site presence on our campus in Copenhagen (typically 1–2 days a week at the office) and virtual tasks throughout the week—such as managing the project mailbox. We will plan your tasks and work hours together, based on project needs and your study and exam schedule.

You will work closely with the project Chair and Grant Holder, Katja Brøgger, as well as other project leaders and international partners. You will be part of the Department of Education Studies and share office space with other junior staff (PhD students and student assistants) and the Chair of the project.

We expect that you:
  • Are fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • Have an interest in geopolitics and European policy at both EU and member state level
  • Are interested in university and higher education policy
  • Have strong coordination and organizational skills
  • Are good at creating structure and maintaining an overview
  • Are reliable, proactive, and able to follow through on tasks
  • Are a strong collaborator – locally at the university as well as internationally
  • Can work independently and with a high degree of autonomy
  • Are flexible and able to manage your time efficiently
  • Enjoy being challenged by a mix of academic, practical, and organizational tasks.

It is an advantage if you are in your third year of a bachelor’s degree or the first year of a master’s program, so you can remain in the position for the duration of the project.

The position begins on 1 October 2025 (if possible, training will take place in late September).
Interviews will be conducted during September.

The position averages 10–12 hours per week, with flexibility depending on project needs.
