The Department of Animal and Veterinary Sciences calls for applications for two positions as associate professor or tenure track assistant professor. The positions are to be employed from February 1, 2026, or soon thereafter.

We are seeking a candidate with knowledge in the analytical and nutritional aspects of lipids and vitamins. The position will be focused on the analytical and physicochemical aspects of lipids and vitamins and how these components are digested, fermented, absorbed, and metabolized in different livestock species.
The candidate should have a background in animal nutrition and physiology and a strong background in fatty acid biohydrogenation in different lipid fractions, improving milk fatty acids profile, and in evaluating stability, synthesis, pharmaco-kinetic, and bioavailability of different sources and forms of vitamins (i.e., natural vs synthetic) in different livestock species as well as expertise in running and developing new analytical methods within vitamin analysis using high performance liquid chromatography and fat and fatty acid analysis by gas liquid chromatography.
The candidate is expected to perform state-of-the-art research with the aim of securing sustainable production from healthy, high performing monogastric and ruminant animals. This includes conducting in vivo experiments to evaluate the lipid/fatty acids/vitamin requirements in different animal species with major emphasis on the nutritional quality of the milk and milk lipid fractions, or other biological body compartments.
Further, the candidate should have the competence for maintaining and expanding the department’s analytical platforms with respect to analysis of different vitamins, fat, and fatty acids. It is expected that the candidate will collaborate nationally and internationally and attract external funding to establish research projects within the topic.
The candidate is expected to lead research on nutritional strategies for hyperprolific sows and piglets, emphasizing feed intake, diet composition, and nutrient requirements to enhance sow health and productivity.
