Research Assistant in Autobiographical Memory and Morality
Center on Autobiographical Memory Research [CON AMORE], Department of Psychology and Behavioural Sciences, Aarhus University, invites applications for a 1 year and 5 months position as research assistant with an expected start on April 1st 2026.

As a member of the memory and morality research team at CON AMORE, you will work on research projects investigating the interplay between autobiographical memory and morality, including but not limited to:
At the Department of Psychology and Behavioural Sciences, we teach and conduct research into the most significant subject areas of psychology. The department employs around 55-60 academic staff members and 40 PhD students. Our researchers have a strong tradition for collaborating with Danish as well as international researchers from many different academic fields such as health and psychiatry, education, pedagogic, linguistics, philosophy, religious studies, organizational development and management, economics and neuroscience.

About the project and tasks:
Everyday life is filled with concerns and norms for morality, such as concerns for the welfare of others, fairness, and honesty. Yet, the role of morality has been underrepresented in research on autobiographical memory - that is, memory for the personal past. The aim of this project is to establish a new approach to the study of autobiographical memory rooted in the hypothesis of a fundamental interplay between morality and memory.As a member of the memory and morality research team at CON AMORE, you will work on research projects investigating the interplay between autobiographical memory and morality, including but not limited to:
- Use AI techniques, including the development and application of large language models (LLMs), for text analysis of memory reports according to specific research aims.
- Content coding of memory narratives.
- Perform data analysis using statistical software such as R and SPSS.
- Contribute critically to academic writing and the publication process.
- Take part in the center’s research events.
Expected qualifications
- A master’s degree in cognitive science or psychology.
- Substantial Knowledge and experience in artificial intelligence (AI) and natural language processing (NLP).
- Good statistical and programming skills in R and Python.
- Experience with content coding of verbal descriptions
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Interest in autobiographical memory and moral psychology.
