Multiple Professor positions open within: Cyber Security, Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence, and Robotics and Drone Technology
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Aarhus University is currently expanding. With an ambitious recruitment plan, the Department is encouraging and inviting applicants motivated by excellence in research and teaching, to apply for a full-time professorship, starting from 1 February 2026 or as soon as possible hereafter. You will be expected to contribute significantly on research, teaching and external collaboration on societal changes in one of the areas: Cyber Security, Computer Vision, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics and Drone Technology.
Your tasks will be to conduct independent research, with international quality within one or more areas, listed below.
Cyber Security: including, but not limited to design of secure systems, privacy protection, cloud and network security, resilient distributed systems, resilient infrastructure, trusted execution environments, software supply chain and ecosystem security, and/or malicious code detection.
Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence: including but not limited to machine learning, deep learning, image/video analysis, NLP, robustness and adversarial defenses, physics-informed machine learning, privacy-preserving training, cross-modal reasoning, and/or explainable AI.
Robotics and Drone Technology: including, but not limited to autonomy and autonomous systems, multi-agent coordination, aerial robotics, machine learning and AI for robotics, edge AI for robotics, navigation, control, energy-aware path planning, and/or human-robot interaction.
Your job will also include research with societal and industrial impact and interdisciplinary and international collaborations, securing competitive funding and leading large-scale projects. We expect you to bring experience in international collaborations and partnerships with public and private stakeholders, and a track record of securing high-impact research.
You will also be responsible for teaching and supervising Bachelor's and Master's degree students at the department. We will encourage you to build your own research group within the department, including Postdoctoral Researchers and PhD students.
In your daily work, you will work closely with Danish and international colleagues in a multidisciplinary environment. We anticipate you will be an integral part of the research and teaching environment, able to collaborate and build relationships, and contribute positively to the social working environment. We do not expect you to speak/write Danish when you arrive, but we expect you to learn.

Your profile:
- You are an established professor with great experience within research and teaching. You have a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering (or a similar area) related to one of the areas listed above.
- You are a skilled teacher, who can supervise students at the BEng, BSc’s, MsC’s and PhD-level and carry out individual and group-based research. It is positive if you have completed pedagogical teaching and supervision courses. Otherwise, Aarhus University offers these courses on a regular basis.
- You are a motivational and supportive leader who builds trust with students, colleagues, and partners.
- You communicate complex knowledge clearly and act as an inspiring and responsible supervisor.
- You take co-responsibility for advancing the department’s impact-based research and education, while contributing to a positive work environment.
