Laboratory technician position in the Plant Section at the Institute for Molecular Biology and Genetics

Expected start date and duration of employment
This is a one–year position from 1st October 2025, or shortly thereafter, with the possibility of extension.Your main responsibilities:
• Molecular Cloning Projects: Design and execute projects involving molecular biology protocols at DNA, RNA and protein level
• Perform cloning projects and genetic transformations of bacteria and plants.
• Perform advanced molecular biology techniques including PCR, restriction digests, ligations, and transformations
• Manage acquisitions and exchanges of plant and molecular tools for the group
• Support researchers with specialized cloning needs and protocol optimization
• Keep detailed records of cloning work and procurement activities
• Contribute to activities of the group related to purchasing, coordinate supplier relationships, and oversee inventory management
• Maintain and troubleshoot molecular biology equipment and protocols
• Coordinate with finance department using IndFak and Rejsud systems
• Mentor students in molecular cloning techniques
What we expect from you:
Our ideal candidate:- Has completed a laboratory technician education (laborant in Danish)
- Has strong experience in molecular biology techniques involving gene cloning
- Has expertise on working with DNA, RNA and proteins
- Is well-organized with excellent procurement and inventory management skills
- Can work independently on research projects while supporting team needs
- Can perform complex tasks also in periods of intense activities
- Can assist with data entry and laboratory database maintenance
- Is collaborative and enjoys working in an international research environment
- Communicates effectively in English (working language of our group)
- Has experience with IndFak and Rejsud – preferred, but not mandatory
- Has a driving license (category B)
