BioMedical Design Novo Nordisk Foundation Fellowship Programme, Department of Clinical Medicine at the Faculty of Health, Aarhus University, invites applications for two positions (one in Aarhus and one in Copenhagen) as Senior Innovation Coaches.
Shape and sharpen the future of Danish health innovation capacity
We are seeking two new colleagues to educate, train and support interdisciplinary innovation teams tackling real healthcare challenges. These are exciting opportunities to join a high-impact, mission-driven program that combines health, design and entrepreneurship.
We are looking for two profiles who can complement each other in terms of expertise in the innovation process (from discovery and co-creation through technical development and to implementation), though understanding and practical experiences of commercialization is needed for both positions.
What is BioMedical Design?
BioMedical Design is a unique 1o-months fellowship where experienced professionals are trained in needs-driven innovation in the healthcare sector.
Our ambition is to strengthen Denmark’s capacity in innovation and entrepreneurship by upskilling talents to use their professional skills to innovate medical technology, AND to provide a pipeline of high-quality innovation projects to the Danish life science ecosystem.

Your roles and job responsibilities
As Senior Innovation Coach (specialkonsulent /special consultant) you will play a central role in the personal and professional development of our fellows. You will:
- Plan, coordinate and execute program activities (lectures, workshops, feedback sessions, presentation sessions and coaching) that contribute to learning and development of our fellows.
- Guide and coach four innovation teams through the innovation process – from needs finding to conceptualization, development, and early validation
- Mentor fellows individually to support their personal growth
- Coordinate with external experts (e.g. professionals in regulatory affairs, HTA, or IPR)
- Build and maintain relations to national and international stakeholders to support project and career advancement of our fellows.
- In your role, you will contribute to the continous improvement of our content, our tools and our teaching methods. We expect you to bring in to use your existing tools and methods where this benefits the program and we expect you to adopt the corner stones of our needs-driven innovation method (you’ll get the training).
As part of the job, you will be involved in the recruitment and assessment of candidates for the next batch of fellows.
You will be part of a joint management team of 6 people distributes across offices in Aarhus and Copenhagen who work together to pull off the intensive 10-months fellowship programme from both an administrative, practical and subject matter perspective.
You will be refering to the managing director of BioMedical Design.
Your competencies
Academic background (MSc or PhD), preferably from, but not limited to, natural sciences, engineering (mechanical, software, digital, datascience), health sciences or trade / economics.
8+ years of work experience from either the life science industry, medical technology field or innovation in healthcare.
Solid and documented experience with innovation in the medical/health field from either management of development teams, own startup experience, or experience from managing innovation processes and projects or from consultancy work.
As we are seeking candidates for two positions, your core professional competencies can be from one of more areas such as facilitation of innovation processes (e.g., co-creation, user-centered design), conceptualization and technical development of medical equipment/technology (hardware/software), commercialization of medical equipment/technology (marked analyses, go-market strategies, regulatory affairs, IPR, HTA etc).
Ideally, you have experience in communication and teaching (e.g., through external lectureships or course activities), and in conducting workshops.
Experience in supervision and coaching.
You must be fluent in English orally as well as in writing as all communication and teaching of fellows takes place in English.

- Employment is at the Department of Clinical Medicine, Faculty of Health, Aarhus University.
- Both positions are temporary full-time positions (category: specialkonsulent /special consultant) from 1 November 2025 to 31 August 2028.
Department of Clinical Medicine
At the Department of Clinical Medicine, you will be part of what is probably the largest health science research department in Denmark. Our clinical research covers all the medical specialities and takes place in close collaboration with the university hospital and the regional hospitals in the Central Denmark Region. We have approx. 30,000 square metres of modern research facilities for experimental surgery and medicine, animal facilities and also advanced scanners at our disposal. The department has overall responsibility for the Master's degree programs in medicine and in molecular medicine.
