Postdoc positions in genomics and/or bioinformatics supported by ERC and Lundbeck Foundation

One or two postdoc positions are available from September 1st, 2022 or as soon as possible thereafter, in the incoming laboratory of group leader Taro Kitazawa at the Danish Research Institute of Translational Neuroscience (DANDRITE, Nordic EMBL partnership) and the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, Aarhus University. Initial contracts are two years but can be extended after evaluation.

Job description

The project is a part of research program on epigenetic and transcriptional basis of neuroplasticity in memory formation, supported by the European Research Council (ERC) and Lundbeck Foundation.
The positions will mainly focus on establishment of novel genomics sequencing technologies and application of them in neuronal systems, and/or on analysis of genomics data (e.g. bulk/single-cell RNS-seq, ATAC-seq, ChIP-seq, 3C-seq) in fear memory formation, which will be produced by other lab members.
The positions will also involve active interactions with other lab members and research networks in the Aarhus University including the Bioinformatics Facility, and the DANDRITE center of the Nordic EMBL Partnership for Molecular Medicine.

Application procedure

Shortlisting is used. This means that after the deadline for applications – and with the assistance from the assessment committee chairman, and the appointment committee if necessary, – the head of department selects the candidates to be evaluated. All applicants will be notified whether or not their applications have been sent to an expert assessment committee for evaluation. The selected applicants will be informed about the composition of the committee, and each applicant is given the opportunity to comment on the part of the assessment that concerns him/her self.
